when i say i hate school it doesn’t mean i hate education and knowledge. it means that i hate selfish and ignorant people there. it means that i hate stress and high expectations. it means that i hate being treated like a shit. it fucking means that i hate feeling like a failure all the time.

“I haven’t worn my Tiana cosplay since a group on tumblr tore me apart for “white-washing” her. It really hurts because her character is the only one I relate to, and helped me to push through when I was working two jobs and struggling to get through university. Now it just feels like I can’t even show my appreciation to her because there are ‘plenty of other princesses for me to dress up as’”

Oh my gosh, that’s just plain rude. Why do people feel the need to do these things? Why? Let people cosplay whoever they want, it isn’t hurting anyone.

I’ve read somewhere a little white girl dressing as Tiana is racist. Screw this! White people loving and relating to non-white characters is a good thing! It means they see them as people and Hollywood would make more non-white leads without being scared of driving away their white audience.

Stuff like this blows my mind. I grew up, and still live, in Mississippi. And I’ve NEVER come across as much racism as I have on Tumblr. And it’s not even white to black, but white to white. Which is absolutely crazy. What they call cultural appropriation I call the acceptance of other cultures. It’s like they’re trying to bring back segregation, instead of supporting love and tolerance of all races. We may have different skin tones, but guess what? We’re all humans and we all bleed red.

So my university had a ‘stress-free resort’ station set up today to help students combat the stress of finals week.
There was a coloring table

complete with Lion King coloring books

There was a lego table

and PUPPIES

also, free massages.

This is the most wonderful thing that ever happened in four years of college.

Our school should do this
